Peu de moyens, beaucoup d'effet ! Telle a été ma devise pour ces pièces de style rock-jazz. Même si votre technique n'est pas encore parfaite, vous pourrez apprécier le caractère entaînant du style populaire de ces pièces. Une chose est garantie: presque tout est écrit dans des tonalités familières et peut être joué en bas du manche, et l'écriture typiquement guitaristique ne nécessite ni écarts acrobatiques, ni positions d'accord complex. Une fois la pulsation bien ressentie, vous aurez soudain la sensation que la musique vient d'elle-même, un peu comme si vous aviez branché le pilote automatique. Vous pourrez alors vous immerger totalement dans le rythme et le son. C'est là que votre imagination pourra intervenir pour personnaliser ces pièces: dynamiques, ornements, glissés, etc... selon le caractère de chaque pièce. Libre à vous aussi de tenir ou d'étouffer certaines notes, la polyphonie n'étant pas développée par souci de simplicité. Jürg HOCHWEBER

You can achieve a great deal with just a little technique. This is the fundamental idea behind these pieces in a rock-jazz style, and even if your technique is not yet perfekt, you will still be able to appreciate their secuctive popular sound. One thing is garanteed: allmost everything has been composed in familar keys and can be played on th lower frets. The music is made for the guitar, and it does not call for left-hand stretches, acrobatics or complicated chord positions. Once the beat has been established you will suddenly feel the music take off, just as though you had switched on the automatic pilot, so that you can let yourself be carried away by the rhythm and melody. At this point your imagination can take over and make this music your own, adding dynamics, ornaments and slides at will, depending on the individual character of each piece. You can even decide wether to allow certain notes to ring on or to cut them short, as the voice parts have been kept deliberately simple.

Große Wirkung mit wenig Aufwand! Das war auch bei diesen Rock-Jazz-Stücken mein oberstes Gebot. Auch wenn Du, liebe(r) GitarristIn, noch keine perfekte Technik hast, kannst du daher schon jetzt den angenehmen Schwung dieser populären Stilrichtung genießen . Und ich garantiere Dir: fast alles steht in den unteren Lagen und in den vertrauten Tonarten, und ich habe nur typisch gitarristisches Material verwendet, Streckungen und schwierige Griffe brauchst Du nicht. Und wenn du den treibenden Puls der Stücke einmal spürst, erlebst Du sicher, wie plötzlich alles fast von selbst weitergeht, als ob Du den Autopiloten eingeschaltet hast, und Du voll im Rhythmus und im Klang schwelgen kannst. Das ist dann der Moment, wo du Deine Fantasie einsetzen kannst, um das Stück auf deine persönliche Art zu gestalten, sei es in der Dynamik, durch Ergänzung von Trillern und Glissandi etc, wie es diesem Musikstil angemessen ist. Du entscheidest auch, welche Töne du abdämpfen oder aushalten willst, da ich auf die genaue Ausarbeitung der Polyphonie zugunsten einer einfachen Darstellung verzichtete habe.
